Squirrels and birds eating through your screen door material

Squirrels  and birds do make holes in screens but not to eat it, they make nests out of the screen mesh.  When the fiberglass gets old and brittle it no longer has the same flexibility and strength.  After much sun and rain the material turns white and the life cycle ends.

In some cases they will bite through a sliding screen doors mesh even if it is still in good shape.  Squirrels and rats will bite and tear the screen on the bottom of the screen door and make a hole, some people will even try to cover it with a piece of carton.  The only way to help prevent this from happening is to get the new pet screen installed on your patio door, it is 7 times stronger and last a very long time.
