One of my jobs today in Thousand oaks was a bent screen repair. It looked like someone walked right into it and the aluminum frame did not hold, the handle area can’t hold any weight. Once a frame bends like this you can’t fix it, I can try to straighten the frame out but it will not work properly.

Everyone gets tires of rescreening the patio screen door time after time. Pets’ kid’s, cat’s, they don’t seem to see it till they go right though it.  The solution is here and it’s called pet screen.  Installing this pet proof magical savior screen is very hard if you want it done right. Im going to give you a few basic steps and tis on rescreening you porch door.

Tools Needed

  1. screen spline roller
  2. box cutter blade
  3. screw driver flat

Does you sliding screen door fall off track?

The main purpose of the sliding screen door is to slide on the track, if it falls off then the screen is not working properly and need to be fixed. You should not have to force the screen across the opening, if it is sticking or getting caught it probably needs to be adjusted. Sometimes the rollers are not metal and may be worn down.

If the screen door is fairly new and the wheels are not raised enough for the screen to glide right it will fall off track and stick. Try reaching over at the bottom raising slots which are next to the roller and with a fillips screw driver turn clock wise to lift the patio door, if this does not help then you may need to have a mobile service come to your home and give you a free estimate. A handyman service dose not specialize in screen and will not make them right as a matter of fact we work very closely with several professional handyman services that will not ouch a screen job just because there is some technic involved that can become a bit of a problem.

  4. Is he going to make the screens himself or take them to a hardware store to get done?  If he takes them it should be a screen shop
  5. Does he use metal corners or plastic?  he needs to use metal corners or you will be calling him again shortly
  6. if he is installing a sliding screen door make sure the screen door has all metal parts and no plastic
