Torn window screen fiberglass mesh

If you live in Thousand Oaks and are having problems with your fiberglass window screens getting torn, weather, sun rays etc.. the window screen nylon become worn and brittle.  The color of screen mesh most used today is charcoal and with time it goes from black screen to white screen.  We recommend re-screening your windows after about 8 to 10 years. Changing plastic corners in window screens

Plastic corners

When you see that your window screens aren’t holding up any more because the plastic corner are cracked and brittle, It’s time to change them or get new window screen frames made.  Depending on the shape of your screens there are two things that can be done with them. One option is to remove the old broken corners and replace them for new ones and colors are not a problem because we have white, gray, and brown.

If new frames are the only option for your home then the advantage of replacing them is the best option as far as better quality and long lasting.  Solid heavy duty frames, .025 gauge and thick metal corners with a miter cut to hide it inside giving the screen a better look and stronger hold.  metal last for years without any problems or wear and tear issues but plastic has a relatively short life cycle and when they turn yellow there is no repair and it’s hard to remove the screen from the window without cracking it.

Today I did a window screen repair in Thousand oaks.  Most of the window screens on the windows were old and brittle what i do then is ask the customer is they want to change the screens or repair screens.  When the screen mesh gets old it become white and brittle, this make it easy for it to get holes. After 8 to 10 years screens should get replaced or re-screened, if the frames are in good shape then I can save them by rescreening the frames. Window Screen Repairs in Thousand Oaks

Spring is here and screens need to be repaired.  We work a lot in Thousand Oaks California, we have stops here everyday.  A lot of the homes in Thousand Oaks are getting up there in age and a lot need their screens replaced or at least repaired or what we call rescreen.  Rescreening is when we just place the mesh on the existing aluminum screen frame and this cost a lot less than a hole new screen frame. Rescreening can also be done on Screen doors as well sliding screen doors or swinging screen doors and keep in mind that all the work we do is done onsite, right at your place.

The screen wire we use the most is the charcoal screen mesh (black screen) it is the clearest screen mesh made and it is put on all windows even new windows, for example Milgar, Anderson and Pella windows all use the charcoal color window and door screen mesh.  The reason charcoal screen is the best to use is because the sun dose not reflect as much and blocks you view less than grey screen.

Window Re-screening & Repair

• We will inspect your screens and re-screen with the highest quality products.
• Basement windows with non-removable frames can be re-screened on site.

Construct new window screens (any size)

• The Screen Man will customize screens built to order with the specific frame size and color to fit your needs.

Door Re-screening & repair

• We will re-screen your sliding patio doors, storm door inserts or wooden door with the highest quality products.• For wooden doors we will remove and replace with the existing wood trim as is.

Porch Re-screening

• We will re-screen porches using either the “screen tight tracking” system or your existing trim.
• Damaged wood repair (replacement of furring strips and certain lite trim) is available at the time of re-screening.

Replace rollers on screen doors

• Rollers can be replaced or repaired as needed.
• Some parts are proprietary or obsolete. The Screen Man can usually refit any roller with a comparable up-to-date replacement part.

Replace window screen corners

• Damaged corners, miter or external can be replaced as needed.

Replace security latches

• Security latches can be installed on screen frame at time of re-screening.
New drive pins will be provided to customers.

Replace pin plungers

• Metal or nylon black or white caps can be replaced as needed.
