Bent screen doors

Patio doors come in a variety of colors and sizes, you can also have one sliding screen door or two.  The double set patio screens are when you have a right and left sliders, unlike the double set of French doors which swing open. This particular set was about 8 years old and had a few people walk into then a few times.  When someone walks into a screen door not only does the mesh rip and tear but the frame bends as well.

The most common place the frame will buckle or get  bent out of shape is where the black plastic handle is, right in the center of the screen. In most cases I can fix this and get the door working in pretty good shape but if it can’t be fixed then a new patio screen door will be needed.  A double set is i bit harder to get working again because the screens have to align and close onto each other, so the need to be pretty straight.  When I repair them I first try to straiten out the frame and then I’ll rescreen them.
